Where To Eat in Marin: Hello Michelin 2021!

After a break last year, the Michelin Guide is back in California, and they discovered and re-discovered some our local favorites in Marin County. Since the hike + dine + relax combo is unbeatable, we suggest selecting a few of these Michelin picks with a couple of Marin hikes and a stay one of our Marin Hotels for a primo Marin getaway.

Marin County Michel Star and Bib Gourmand Restaurants

The first 5 on this list are Michelin Bib Gourmand recommendations —”Not quite a star, but most definitely not a consolation prize, the Bib Gourmand - is a just-as-esteemed rating that recognizes friendly establishments that serve good food at moderate prices.” Casual atmosphere, and great food? We’re in!

Tony’s Seafood. A new entry in the Bib Gourmand category! Bay to table dining at its best.

Insalatas. A mediterranean food destination in San Anselmo for over 20 years, and a multiple-year Michelin Bib Gourmand winner.

Pig in a Pickle. High quality ingredients meet southern style sauces at this super casual Bib Gourmand BBQ destination at Corte Madera Town Center.

Playa. A few blocks from Mill Valley Inn, Playa’s modern Mexican food matches its gorgeous indoor/outdoor space and easy vibe

Sushi Ran. Not only considered one of the best Sushi Restaurants in California, but also the Country. And so close to Acqua Hotel! p.s. that dish at the top of this post is one of our favorites at Sushi Ran!

Village Sake. This japanese Izakaya pub doesn’t take reservations, so familiarize yourself with the waitlist. Worth it!

And for a Marin Michelin Star experience, MadCap in San Anselmo is a fine-dining must-do.

Bon Apetit!
