Our 7 Favorite Pizzas in Marin County

Our 7 Favorite Pizzas in Marin County

If there’s one thing almost everyone in Marin likes to eat, it’s pizza. It’s the perfect post-hike, farm-to-table, casual and deeply satisfying meal. So if you’re looking for that vibe, and to hang out with some Marinites, read on. Here are our favorite spots, all pretty close to our Marin Hotels. Click around to find the gluten-free options, as well as vegetarian and vegan.

Bar Bocce in Saualito (below) is the triple threat: great pizza, it’s located on the Sausalito harbor with outdoor seating, and there is naturally, bocce. Enjoy the view, a game, and some local wine while you wait for your pizza. Our favorite is the Kale pizza with a side of the English Pea crostini. That clam pie though is a close second…

Piazza D’Angelo in downtown Mill Valley right on the square is a long-time local’s favorite for all things Southern Italian cuisine. Fun atmosphere, great staff, incredible wine list and our sister restaurant! The brocollini pizza is perfect, and even more so when paired with one of the pastas. Also, don’t sleep on bread and oil that comes to every table because it is so delicious!

Tamalpie located just outside of downtown Mill Valley is as well-known for their pasta as their pizza, so get some of each. In the summer, we are giving a high high recommend on whatever gazpacho they are serving. Back to the pizza — their secret is in the dough. Whatever they are doing it works! There is lots of space at Tamalpie for large parties and families, both indoors and out. And the craft cocktails are just delightful.

Pizza Hacker at The Junction tucked into a corner of Mill Valley is a chill outdoor dreamland of live music, 30 beers on tap (plus more in the bottle shop), and pizza from Pizza Hacker (below). They host free summer concerts every Sunday 2:00-5:00; here’s their live music calendar. Enjoy the tunes alongside our favorite Rocket Man Pizza with a farm fresh egg.

Pizzeria Pico is a much-loved neighborhood spot in downtown Larkspur. The pies come directly to your spot at the counter one step away from the wood-fired oven (a few more if you’re outdoors). Pro-tip: you can also order from the restaurant menu Pico next door. The ahi tartare on sticky rice cakes and a half order of risotto (it comes out every half hour) pairs astonishingly well with your J. Klein pizza. And do not leave without ordering the soft serve vanilla ice cream topped with olive oil and salt.

Tony Tutto Pizza in charming downtown Ross is a bit off the beaten path but merits a mention for their organic, farm fresh pies and their extensive vegan menu. The pizzas are some of our favorites in Marin because they really know what to do with California’s abundant fresh produce.

Waypoint Pizza in downtown Tiburon (a few doors down from Waters Edge Hotel) has a little thing they call Between The Sheets, and we love it. It’s a fold over situation and it is just so satisfying!

BON APETIT!

See you out there!
